Travel to the Philippine Islands Is Safe

Some people may be reluctant to travel to the Philippine Islands because of what they perceive may be political instability in this South East Asian archipelago nation.
True, the Philippines Islands have had a history of military coups; bandits that kidnap foreigners for ransom; a minor communist insurgency problem and Islamic secessionists . But all these are far less dramatic than what news reports suggest. The Philippines is generally a peaceful place to visit and even an ideal place to live. The thousands of foreigners and expatriates who have found their second home in the Philippines are proof of that fact.
The Philippines is not just one island, but an archipelago of 7,107 islands, and one of the primary industries that supports the economy of the Philippines is tourism. The Philippines enjoys a constant flow of visitors from Europe, the US, and neighboring Asian countries like Japan, China, Taiwan, and recently a flood of Koreans, many of whom stay for good.
In addition to being a spectacular destination for adventure sports such as SCUBA and snorkeling, fishing, mountain biking and boating, the Philippines is also known as a popular place to have a romantic vacation. Many resorts go out of their way to hold spectacular wedding ceremonies, while most accommodations have facilities to accommodate honeymooners.
Filipino culture is a fusion of pre-Hispanic indigenous civilizations of the Philippines mixed with Hispanic, American, Chinese and Islamic cultures.
The Hispanic influences in Filipino culture are largely derived from the culture of Spain and Mexico as a result of over three centuries of Spanish colonial rule, and particularly evident in literature, folk music and dance, language, food, art and most importantly religion. The Philippines is the seat of Christianity in Asia; the first Roman Catholic mass was in Cebu in 1521, courtesy of Ferdinand Magellan.
Despite foreign influences, many of the Philippines old myths and legends, customs, traditions and beliefs have been retained and practiced until this day by much of the indigenous folk.
Colorful native legends; warm and friendly people; immaculate sandy beaches and miles of clear blue ocean combine to make the Philippine Islands a highly recommended safe vacation destination.

World’s Most Amazing Beaches

The world has so many beaches some are for surfers, some for just relaxing and getting a tan whilst some are just for having an all-night party. Our top 5 list is not all about the most idyllic beaches with white sand and turquoise sea for people on a luxury holiday but beaches that can offer you something different from the norm; although we do have idyllic beaches in the list as well. Who can blame us?

Puka Beach, Boracay, Philippines: The Philippines may not be at the top of everyone’s holiday destination list but they do have some of the best beaches in the world. Puka Beach on Boracay may be the main tourist spot in the country but it is for a reason. Tofo, Mozambique: Whilst it may not have the typical turquoise blue sea that most people associate with amazing beaches it does have miles upon miles of white sand backed by sand dunes which make this place a great place for relaxing. With the addition of Dolphins, Whale Sharks and Manta Rays just off the coast you forget that this Indian Ocean beach does not fit the stereotype beach but has so much more on offer.

Haad Rin, Ko Pha Ngan, Thailand :By day you can relax on the white sand whilst looking out to the crystal clear sea listing to beats from the bars which line the beach. By night however the beach turns into the place to be for a party, especially once a month when the full moon rises in the sky when 10,000 travellers flock to the island for an all-night beach party with music to suit anyone’s taste.

Nungwi, Zanzibar: On the tip of Zanzibar you will find Nungwi, with some of the finest white sand and blue sea you may well ever see, Nungwi is all about doing nothing during the day and having a relaxing meal of BBQ prawns by night with a nice cold beer.

Anse Source d’Argent, Seychelles: Usually at the top spot on most top beach contests and it is there for a reason. Located on the island of La Digue in the Seychelles its shallow waters with its reef just from the shore which keeps the waters calm is a snorkeler’s paradise. Among these, the largest is the American and British Virgin Islands. Because of geographical situation, Isla Aves has been included as a part of the Leeward Islands.

The name “Leeward” was given to the group of islands because of the current winds in the region that blows from northwest. These trade winds are almost constant all over the year and blows from 10 to 25 knots. Because of the Atlantic ocean, the strongest currents and largest waves are most often on the northeastern sides of the islands.
